My Birthday Surprise: Appointed as Cannon Township Trustee
March 25th was not only my birthday but also a day I will never forget. As fate would have it, I was appointed as a Cannon Township Trustee during the board meeting held on that very day.
The meeting began like any other, with routine items on the agenda.
The backstory: I had applied for an appointment before, and although my resume was full of volunteer experiences and board positions, I had not directly served in the Township. I was advised to get involved and join a committee, so I did. Currently, I serve on the Planning Commission and the Invasive Species & Wetlands Committee. I was hopeful that this would be my opportunity, but as they say, in politics, you just never know!
The motion was made by Terry Brod and swiftly the rest of the board voted yes and I was sworn in as a trustee, joining the board right then and there.
Huge thanks to Terry Brod and Joe Gavan for their hard work and dedication. They've left big shoes to fill, but I'm ready to step up to the challenge.
Joining the board for the rest of the meeting, I felt a sense of excitement and determination to serve the people of Cannon Township to the best of my abilities.
Additionally, on the agenda, there was a young man named Riley striving to earn his Eagle Scout rank by creating a brick path. It was inspiring to see him so excited.
As I embark on this new journey, I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the betterment of our community. With dedication and passion, I look forward to working alongside my fellow trustees to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.
I still will need to run for office for the next term. I will be on the ballot for the August 6th primary and November 5th General Election.
