March & April Meetings Recap

Here are my updates from the meeting I’m involved in at Cannon Township. To get the latest scoop, it’s best to subscribe to the website for alerts and/or attend the meetings. The public is always welcomed!

How to subscribe to Cannon Townships Website

- Board Meeting on March 25: Minutes and agenda/packet. This was my first partial meeting as a Trustee. (where I was appointed!)

- Board Meeting on April 8: YouTube recording available and agenda/packet (Please note that the minutes won’t be posted until approved at April 22nd meeting!)

Look at the packed house from the April 9 Planning Commission Meeting!

Regarding the Planning Commission meeting on April 9, the minutes are pending approval and will be posted and approved after our next meeting. Here are the key takeaways:

- Public Hearing: Rezoning Request at 6950 Ramsdell, from RR (Rural Residential) to B-1 (Neighborhood Business) for Dave Visser Builders.

- Approximately 15-20 individuals spoke and most voiced opposition.

- Dave Visser ultimately withdrew the request. So there was no need to vote on the matter.

- Discussion: Orchard View Phase 2

- No significant issues were identified; changes were requested for Orchard View by the Road Commission.

- Discussion: Town Square Commercial Drive-thru

- Drive-throughs are permitted in Cannon Township but not in Town Square.

- A traffic study was requested to continue discussing this matter.

There is so much to learn when it comes to due process! If you have any questions on how things work at the township I am always available to help. Send me a message!
